Ask most vapers and modders what is better, and they will usually say the VTC5 is. Having told dozens of people by now, I have come to see reactions ranging from confusion to rage. The simple fact is, the VTC4 has a 30 amp maximum continuous discharge rating, and the VTC5 has a 20 amp max. cont. discharge rating. On the other hand, the VTC5 can run for 500 more milliamp hours than the VTC4. At this point, electric car enthusiasts are raising their arms and proclaiming the VTC5 to indeed be better than its predecessor.
The naming conventions of 18650 batteries are not created for marketing to end-consumers. They are model numbers based on a system of organization within and between factories. Therein lies the difference and the reason so many modders have been so confused for so long.
The same pattern follows in Samsung SDI batteries. The Samsung 25R is rated at 20 amps, while the Samsung 30 A is only rated at 6 amps. The difference is, the 25R is 2500mAh while the 30A is 3000mAh. In LG 18650 batteries, there is no relative information in the model number, one has to look them up or memorize them to know their specs.

Sony has a plant in the Phillipines that makes the Sony Vtc batteries. Originally they were made in Japan, but that plant was badly damaged in the earthquake. This resulted in a shortage of these batteries recently. The new plant should be near up to full speed soon.
These batteries were designed for use in high-power tools (and not specifically for our vaporizers).
I would not recommend pulling or harvesting old or used batteries from computers or power tools. Your batteries are the most important item in your vape setup. Be sure to purchase new AUTHENTIC brand name batteries from reputable vendors, such as: RTD Vapor, Illumination Supply, Orbtronics, or Lighthound. I don't recommend purchasing cheaper batteries off of Ebay or Amazon, as there are a lot of fake or rewrapped "brand name" batteries on the market.
Think about it. You use your vaporizer in your hand and bring it up to your face. There have been more and more reports of venting batteries and exploding mods recently. Do you really want to increase this risk by using inferior batteries?

그럼 굳이 vtc5 진품가품 골머리 아파할 필요엄씨 vtc4를 써도 좋겟네여.
Vtc4는 진품 구하기가 5만큼이나 힘들진 않은거죠? 4가 밀어주는 힘이 더 좋고 용량은 적으니 5에 비해 밧데리가 빨리 닳겟네여. 맞나여? 제가 전기는 생무식이라....ㅠㅠ |

@채기락소개해주신 블로그에선 20A라고 소개돼있지만 대다수의 사이트에서 30A라고 하는군요 어떤게 맞는지는 모르겠습니다만...
35A continuous test에선 vtc5가 vtc4랑 lg he2를 압살하네요 https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/some-nice-graphs-of-the-sony-vtc4-vtc5-lg-18650he2.546741/ 기억하실지 모르겠지만 얼마전 vtc5에 꽂혀서 외국 포럼들까지 다 뒤져본 결과 외국형들도 정품은 현재로선 없다 라고 판단하고 리팩 상품만 믿어라 라고 하는 분위기에다 0.1옴까지는 버텨준다 이런말들이 많았는데 뭐 제 손목걸고 그럴맘은 없어서 듀얼박스에 안착했습니다 ㅋㅋㅋ 근데 저 위 그래프가 사실이라면 베이퍼들이 흔히들 원하는 강하게 오래 밀어준다 라는 배터리 기준에는 최 적합하다고 볼 수 있겠네요 ㅎㅎ |

@네메시스카라플vtc5적용된 배터리팩 찾다가 이래저래 긁어모은 정도 붙여놓은 거고요..
대부분의 배터리팩이 vtc4나 3더군요. 일단, 정품 소니배터리팩도 일괄적인 규격의 배터리를 쓴 것 같지는 않습니다. 지금 전자와 바이오가 분리되면서, 배터리 수급쪽에 변화를 주는 것 같은데(본문 하단부 제조공장 관련) 5가 구하기 힘들면 4도 나쁘지 않다는 정도로 보면 되겠습니다. (사실 둘다 구하기 힘든건 마찬가지지만..) |

http://www.powerstream.com/18650-high-discharge-rate.htm A값에 따른 온도변화의 차이도 한번 확인해 보시고요.. 제 생각에는 12년 발매당시의 vtc5에서 한번 스펙업이 있지 않았나? 하는 생각입니다. 떠도는 자료상으로는 딱히 고방전에 넘사벽으로 유리하지만은 않네요.. |

@채기락제가 느끼기에도 넘사벽 스펙은 아닌것 같습니다 ㅎㅎ 확실히 안정성 면을 논외로 치면 스펙만으로는 베잎파워라던지 이페스트 보라돌이, imren 등등 더 좋은 애둘이 눈에띄네요 ㅎㅎ
찾다보니 지진으로 일본공장이 파괴된 후 필리핀에 새 공장을 짓고있으니 곧 물량이 좀 풀리지않을까 하는 예측도 많네요 ㅎㅎ |

어차피 가변듀얼에 넣을거라서 보라돌이나 임렌으로 해도 차고 넘치는데.. 그냥 월드공구에서 2개 구입하고 말아야겠다는 생각이 굴뚝.. 배터리팩 사서 분해해도 개당 몇천원 차이 안나는데.. |

@네메시스카라플임렌 3100짜리가 삼성 25R과 비교시 확실히 오래가긴 합니다.
600차인데 체감상 1.5배 이상 되는거 같네요. 대신 완충하는 시간은 거의 3배정도 더 오래 걸리는거 같습니다. 서로 다른기기에 usb충전을 해서 어쩌면 충전모듈의 차이일 수도 있겠네요. |
