Some new MicroSticks are not firing
We have identified a common problem for the last batch of new MicroSticks. The good news is that it can be easily fixed in place.
Some new MicroSticks are not firing out of the box due to the problem in anodising.
To check if the MicroStick is not firing due to this problem:
- Press the button and manually connect the atty body and the pressed button with a wire (watch your fingers). A knife should be also ok. If it fires now, the problem is in the contact between 510 connector and the MicroStick body.
Solution:
- Remove the bottom cap. If the connector is not fully screwed in, it works. You just need to unscew it half a turn. You can use a GP fork or scissors for this. It's better to add a thin oring around 510 connector to get screwed in tight. Then it won'tt move and lose connection anymore when switching atties.
The connection consists of several parts:
- Minus: battery - button - brass insertion - MicroStick's body - external part of 510 connector - atty body - wire
- Plus: battery - brass conductor - brass pin in 510 connector - atty central post - wire
The problem was in the minus: button - brass insertion - MicroStick's body - external part of 510 connector - atty body
When you connect directly an atty and the button, then you bypass the faulty connection. You can do this with a wire, knife, etc.
Now, let me explain why there was no connection.
There were two ways for the conenctor to touch the body:
- via the deck (which was anodised by mistake). You can simply scratch it to make the contact.
- via the threads, but if the connector is fully and tightly screwed in, somehow threads on the connector are not touching the threads in the body. Unscewing it by half a turn solves the problem.
It would be much easier for us to notice the problem if there was just one way to make a proper connection
The problem wasn't noticed in time, because we checked only several MicroSticks in each batch. In the coming runs we are gooing to check all MicroSticks before ethe shipping.

아노다이징 있는 부분이 접점이 안되는 경우가 있으니 긁어서 아노다이징을 벗겨 접점부 접촉을 잘되게하란 얘긴듯한데요?! |

신형 마이크로 스틱에 파이어링...발화가 안되는 문제가 발견 됬고 계통도상 마이너스 접지 되는 부분이 문제이며
이것을 해결하는 방법은 하부 캡을 열고 떵구녕을 빼서 보면 접지부 안쪽까지 도장이 되어 있고 이것을 포크나 날카로운 것으로 긁어내서 다시 체결하란 소리네요 만약 하부캡 열었을 때 완전히 체결되지 않았다면 반바퀴정도 더 돌려주면 될것이고 510커넥터 역시 타이트 하게 조여 주라는 말도 있네요.. 이것들은 제품을 만들고 완성품 샘플링도 안하고 제품 출하를 한거네요 일반적인 공장들은 생산전 부품 샘플링1차 검수하고, 가품에서2차 샘플링하고 완성품에서 3차 하고 출하전 4차하고 이런 QC과정을 거쳐서 나가는구만......팔고나 보자라는 기업마인드라니 끙 |
